It is a 2009 vehicle. The transmission died in 2013, (not sure of mileage at that time) Nissan did replace it under warranty at Troy Nissan of Michigan, With extended warranty I was told by All Pro.

My vehicle began having issues with the transmission right before the 60,000 warranty was up. I was not about to get an appointment for the dealership until Monday March 22, 2021 at this time the mileage was 60,063. The issues began while I was driving on the interstate, I noticed the car was decelerating and when I pressed on the gas there was a screeching sounds so I pulled over. I was able to move to the car eventually but it would jerk while I was driving and the screeching noise return at 3000 rpm. I brought it into a auto shop who recommended bring it to a dealership. That is where is was diagnosed with transmission issues and recommended for a replacement. That brings me back to the mileage issue, if I was able to get it in a day sooner the transmission would have been completely covered. Nissan's goodwill assistance program will cover half, but the cvt has been a source of several lawsuit. Nissan issues and extension on the warranty. I have experiencing financial hardship and $2,200 is a lot of money for an issue a design issue, especially when Nissan extended the warranty for some Nissan Rogue that are the same year. Why not for all with similar issues. I feel like this is a predatory practice and as a young woman who does not know much I feel taken advantage of right now. I do love my car and would have liked to remain with Nissan but with the pandemic and job security being critical elements of y survival I am no longer confident in my vehicle ability to be reliable in my every day needs. This was a stressful ordeal and I hope this saves another young woman from making a similar mistake.

My vehicle currently has approx 65,000 miles on it and recently started making loud noise when accelerating above 45 mph. Took to Nissan dealer and informed a new transmission is needed. No recall is listed for this issue despite numerous complaints posted with similar issue on various websites. Nissan will not acknowledge problem when I spoke to consumer affairs department.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue 3

At approximately 53,500 miles, while on a long trip, the vehicle started making a wheezing noise and experienced a loss of power. It continues to demonstrate the same behavior whenever the engine warms up. The Nissan dealership that I took it to said that the likely transmission problem was common in Nissan Rogues, muranos and versas. I had the car looked at by two other independent mechanics who agreed it was a deterioration in the workings of the transmission and that Nissan is well aware of this problem in multiple models and model years.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue 5

I have been bringing my vehicle into the dealership for 4 years complaining of the transmission messing up. ( won't go at red-light, shudders when taking off, wierd noises). They always just test drove it said nothing was wrong. I brought it in yesterday for an oil change and again complained about transmission. The tech comes in and says I need a new one and it had been like that for a while. I bring my car there all the time for service and they lie saying they check everything. Now I need a new transmission and they won't help cause the warranty is up but they would not fix it when I had the warranty. I want either my car fully fixed or my money back on the car. I called consumer affairs and they said they can't/won't help.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2010 Nissan Rogue 6

Near the end of may of this year, the car started losing power on the interstate. It became unresponsive to the pedal and would only go about 40 mph. It also made horrible noise and vibration. Vehicles going 70 mph had to avoid hitting it. This happened on bridges in louisiana where off ramps are miles away. Took it to Nissan dealership and was told I needed a transmission replacement, no repair parts. Cost $3,800 plus tax. Discovered Nissan's extended warranty, 10 years of 120,000 miles, whichever comes first. Car has 101,000 miles but was purchased in March 2010, past 10 years by 2 months. If I purchased in June 2010 Nissan would pay. Since bought in March, Nissan refused any responsibility. Was able to get it repaired for $3,200 with a rebuilt transmission with 12,000 miles 12 month warranty, which ever comes first. Same type of trans that Nissan admits is faulty. Don't feel safe, but can't sell car with good conscious.

My 2012 Nissan Rogue's cvt transmission is bad wirh big noise. My car's mileage is 83000. I check my car problem on internet, so many Rogues have same problem. Please make recall 2012 Rogue for transmmision.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue 8

Bearing worn out in transmission at 67000 miles; the only warning I had was a noise coming from under the car when car was in motion sounded like the spin cycle of a washing machine, no noise heard when car was stopped no warning light on the dash board but had to replace entire transmission.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 9

Cvt transmission is making a horrendous noise and stays in low gear throughout ,Nissan murano I have , recently had to have the transmission changed for the same problem , , every body including the Nissan technicians, said this transmission is no good , why are we not protected by our govt. Time for a recall . Nissan have had so many complaints on these transmissions they have added 10 years and 100000 miles to warranty for some vechicles but not others , time to do something, please comb through the records and see how many complaints.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Nissan Rogue 10

Car started making slight whirring noise when accelerating. Took it in to be looked at and they couldn't find an issue. Went another week and the noise got worse and starting skipping and losing power when I tried to accelerate after it's been sitting for a few hours, mostly just in first gear. Almost got in an accident pulling into traffic and lost complete power for a few seconds, was lucky enough to get into a turn lane before I got hit by oncoming traffic. Took it to another mechanic and determined it was transmission and needs to be replaced. They're telling me my car could turn into a giant paperweight at any moment.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 11

When driving my 2013 Nissan Rogue further than 30 miles going speeds of 60mph or greater the rpms race out of control, the car dangerously reduces speeds on freeway even while the accelerator is still pressed. I have to turn off car on the side of the freeway for 10-15 mins before trying to drive again, only to have the speeds reduce and rpms race out of control again. If you are trying to go up hill for a short distances or go up hill on entrances ramps, exit ramps, or up hill on bridges there is the same lag in transmission. The rpms race out of control and Rogue dangerously reduces speeds. There is also a loud whining noise when you press accelerator beyond 60mph or going up hills, ramps, or bridges. I'm frustrated with Nissan they know about this issues with this model 2013 Nissan Rogue. They've even extended the transmission warranty for 2008-2010 with the same issue just under a different name. They also acknowledge its a problem for models 2008-2013 through there 2015 Nissan service bulletin. My frustration is Nissan wants me to pay thousands for a known problematic safety issue with these models and years. But refuse to do so. If they can extend the cvt transmission warranty for the 2008-2010 they should also extend the ctv warranty for the 2013 model that's having the same issues with the cvt sensor and valve. I've only had my 2013 Rogue since 08/2019. The Rogue was fixed once but all was done is transmission fluid was changed in 08/2019. Now it's one year later and same exact issues are occurring and they are refusing to fix again as a customer satisfaction.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 12

The car has approximately 85,000 miles. Took into the dealership for service because of rough idling, loss of acceleration and a whining noise when accelerating. Dealership came back and said transmission was bad. Discovered that cvt failure in 2013 Nissan Rogue is common and a known issue. Recalls have been issued for some models but not all even though many owners have experienced the same problems.

Bought car in 2012 with 64,000 miles. In October of 2017 , with 121,000 miles noticed a grinding noise when taking off took to Nissan dealership , was informed that transmission was bad. Replaced transmission for $3700. In June of 2019 with 138,000 miles started having a vibration in the front when taking off in between 1500 and 2500 rpm was told that transmission was severely damaged in the inside, the pump was not working and metal shavings. I am without a job and had to take my severance pay to pay $4,107 to replace another transmission. That did not include the right tie rod that I constantly have to replace which seems to go out every year. Fixing both lower control arms and the rear suspension at over $1200. 00 the week before the transmission. This car is well taken care of oil changes every 3,000 miles and constant upkeep.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 15

A month after buying the vehicle brand new I brought it to the dealership because of excessive shaking and jittering and whining noises. They said it was normal that it's the new style transmission. Now 140k miles later. I'm onn a trip with cruise control set at 75 I noticed I was slowing down it slowed to 60 while driving down the interstate in the middle of fast moving traffic. Turned cruise control off and attempted to accelerate. Once I pressed the gas pedal it did nothing. Rpms didnt go up mph didnt go up. It was like it just shut off. I got to the next exit pulled off on side turned the vehicle off and then back on. It was fine about an hour later it did the same thing so stopped at a gas station checked fluids everything normal. Got back on the interstate it was normal again. Made it to our destination and vehicle seemed fine the next 2 days but we never needed to drive over 55. On the trip home it started again about an hour in. So we stopped ate and got back on the interstate. This time we kept the speed under 65 the entire trip home and it was fine. Brought it to the dealership to get it checked out to find out that it's my transmission that needs to be replaced.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue 16

Transmission failed at 62912 miles. Shudder, jerking, power loss, whining noise, lurching. The car jumping forward almost caused me to hit a car in front of me on the thomas johnson bridge during rush hour traffic. . The sudden power loss caused great concern for safety on the I-95 beltway. I am grateful no one got hurt.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 17

Driving 70-75 mph on I-80 west less than a year after bought used. Began hearing high-pitched whine that stopped when I lifted my foot from the accelerator. Continued two miles to plaza with sound getting louder and had to coast into parking area because transmission would no longer engage. No revving, nothing. Towed home ($213). Fine for months, then happened again on turnpike. Pulled over, waited an hour to cool. Drove rest of distance going 50 mph or less. Finally had to floor gas pedal to get any movement after stoplights. Now makes buzzing-screaming noise every time it starts, in neutral or otherwise. Nissan dealer says $4,000 for repair. I'm 67, on fixed income and still making payments!.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 18

2013 Nissan Rogue has the worst transmission problems ever and no one is doing something about it!! my vehicle constantly loses power. It whines. It makes noises. It loses power suddenly. I have put many complaints in with the dealer and they say their is nothing wrong. . . . Wtf are they smoking crack?? or. Is it because Nissan USA doesn't want to pay?? NHTSA please do something before someone gets killed on the highway trying to push the vehicle to the side or gets hit by an 18 wheeler b/c the 13 Rogue just dies on the highway. If you investigated Nissan USA data base over the last 5-8 years you will find huge numerous complaints about the cvt transmission on this vehicle. Or. Look at carcomplaints. Com. You will again see what is happening and again. . . . Nissan USA does nothing. Why did Nissan extend the cvt warranty on the following years. . But not the 13s. Because something is wrong and it's huge money they have to spend. We are in a covid 19 time and people lost their jobs and funding is limited and to have someone pay out $6000 for a new transmission. . . Which Nissan USA should be fixing themselves is unethical, immoral and basically fraudulent and should be addressed immediately and hold Nissan USA feet to the fire. . . Period!!!! NHTSA. Please help. You are the last resort. I don't know what else to say. Best michael catuogno.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue 19

Cvt transmission jerks in eco mode each time after releasing the gas pedal, also even when not using eco mode the grinding noise coming from transmission when going down the hill even if you're not applying on the brake pedal, also front passenger seat vibrates when in drive mode and holding the brake pedal at the light, the SUV has only 33,500 miles on it. In my opinion all issues are due to manufactured faulty transmission. According to mechanics consulted was told jatco company that makes transmission for Nissan makes bad cvt transmissions. A friend's dad owns a Nissan also and had his cvt transmission that went bad replaced with a new purchased cvt transmission from Nissan dealership and after about 60,000 miles he's having transmission issues again.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue 20

The contact mentioned that the failure worsened when the vehicle accelerated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the transmission failed. Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue 21

I was driving from bloomington CA to phoenix az. . As I approached an incline on interstate 10 the vehicle began to climb the grade it suddenly began to loose speed and power. A whirring noise was comeing from the engine /transmission compartment. The vehicle quickly began to loose power and speed. It quickly went from 70 mph to about 10 mph. I luckily reached the top of the grade and pulled over to the side of the road. I could not pull over earlier because large semi-trucks were having to go around me. This caused a very dangerous situation since it is only a two lane highway and I was impeding traffic. When I pulled over I shut the engine off and opened the hood to see if there was some obvious reason for the problem. There was not. I let the engine cool a liitle then proceeded on to see if I could make it to my destination. I proceeded at a low speed until I got to to my destination. I had noticed in the past some issues with climbing inclines but never to the extent experienced presently. I went to the dealer in az and was toldit was the transmission and was probably caused by transmission overheating. Since the trip was only a couple of days I will have to try to make it home as is.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue 22

Cvt transmission failure. At 86000 miles. I was on street and heard a grinding noise and it just popped. It lost power no acceleration. I luckily coasted to a dirt road where as soon as I turned it stopped. Would not go. Had it towed to dealership where they've had for 7 days so far. I'm out 445$ on rental car so far. They pay for transmission but 300+ other stuff I have to pay. So I'm out 800+ $ frankly I dont really have. I know could be worse but this is unexpected $ I had to pay plus keep up on regular bill's. Not right.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Nissan Rogue 23

After transmission heats up while driving their is a loud whinging noise. After coming to a stop the vehicle will struggle to start moving again, power hesitating and then overrevving. I took it into the dealer and was told the transmission needed replacement. The vehicle is a 2011 with 100,000 miles - it should not need a new transmission and is currently out of warranty. The cost of replacement is $3,000. The previous model years 2003-2010 warranty's were increased to 10 years 120,000 miles due to issues with the transmission. It appears to me that the issue was not fixed and warranty's again should be extended for owners of model year 2011 and beyond. Nissan should stand by their vehicles and repair and replace when issues arise.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue 27

At around 60,000 miles my transmission started acting up. I was driving on a hilly highway and my car lost speed and was having trouble accelerating back up to the speed limit. While pushing the gas pedal the rpm would increase and the car would make a loud noise as if it was trying to accelerate but it would not pick up speed. When I got off at the next exit the car would barely move after stopping at the stop. This has happened to me multiple times since then. It now happens if I drive the car for longer than 25 minutes, less time if I'm using the ac or heat. After the car has been turned off for a few hours it works normally again as long as I'm only going short distances. During the acceleration issues you can smell transmission fluid. It just happened again and I had only gone 20 miles on the highway.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue 29

When accelerating on highway or city street, I noticed vehicle began making a loud whining/purring noise. Took vehicle to dealership where I purchased vehicle from and they informed me that transmission would need to be replaced (and I do have powertrain warranty). This was a Wednesday so I was given a loaner vehicle on Thursday while my car would be in the shop over the weekend. Monday morning, never heard anything from dealership. Tuesday, same. Wednesday, still no word late in the afternoon so I had to call and the service coordinator informs me that they were not able to replace my transmission because Nissan states the noise the transmission is making is not 'loud' enough. There is a service bulletin out on my vehicle that is titled 'information to prevent cvt replacement due to misdiagnosis of noise' that the dealership's shop foreman went through and their conclusion was that this is what was wrong with my vehicle. I called Nissan and opened a case. My case manager spoke with the service manager at the dealership and my case was closed because according to the shop technician and Nissan, there's nothing 'mechanically' wrong with my vehicle and it is 'working properly' it just makes an unpleasant noise. So I called Nissan and re-opened my case and the assistant of my case manager informs me that my next step would be to take it to a different dealership and have them diagnose it and see if their findings are different. There are no nearby alternate Nissan dealerships that I can easily take my vehicle to. Nissan is forcing me to continue driving my vehicle despite them knowing there is a known failure and expecting me to continue making monthly payments for a vehicle that I do not feel safe driving.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue 30

Bought the car used with 50,000 miles cvt is defective so I had a catastrophic failure of the power train I had it replaced. . I m about to have an another catastrophic failure you paid all that and you are to drive the vehicle. . When you are driving you could hear the transmission making thundering noise and when shut off the car the transmission is faulty . These is the replacement power train and it faulty.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2010 Nissan Rogue 31

I took the car to the dealership I purchased the car from because there were winning noises coming from the left side in the engine/transmission compartment. In addition to cut and unsealed wires under the dash and in the fuse box, as well as a stuck caliper (that they replaced for my convenience according to the service manager). The car has been in the dealer for a total of 2 weeks in the 1 month I have own the car and they have only fixed the caliper. My concern with the cut and unsealed wires is that lights (parking brake and battery) in the dash turn on while I am driving and it has turned off on me when coming to a stop. It happened to my wife (with my newborn in the car) when she was driving the car in the highway, she came to a stop because of traffic and the car turned off on her creating an unsafe environment for both my newborn and child. The response from the dealer was 'we are unable to duplicate the failure, the computer doesn't show any codes' yet it happens to me frequently.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue 32

There is something desperately wrong with the transmission/power in my vehicle. I lose power when going up hills, especially when they are continual, like up a mountain pass! there is a super high pitched noise when the car runs for over an hour, like squealing. Told there is no problem at Nissan dealership, this is not true. The noise happens in every gear when it starts and doesn't stop until the car cools again. The power in vehicle that is lost up hills, will keep it from ever going above 60 until several hours later. The power is lost in the whole vehicle, it lags and sometimes nothing happens during this power loss when pushing the gas pedal. The loss of power is so much that it can't continue to go up hills sometimes and I've had to pull over! very scary on a mountain pass!.

While driving the car on a highway in heavy traffic, it began to shake and make a loud noise. Within a couple of minutes the car began to slow down and would not accelerate. After pulling over in the middle of heavy traffic the car completely stopped. The car was towed to a Nissan dealer and the it was found that the cvt had an internal failure with no movement. Although Nissan was contacted immediately they refused to assist with the repairs of the car because the mileage deemed the car out of warranty. There were no indication that this problem was going to occur. The transmission was defective and faulty and had to be replaced. After researching the problem, I discovered that Nissan has had problems with the transmissions of Rogues in the past. The vehicle was then towed to a aaa car care center for repair.

Transmission Noise problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue 35

Years back iwe have driove our Nissan 2008 to a trip to reading CA we just have bought the car from a dealer in hayward handa. While we were in the hill car could change gear or power we were driving 65 to 70 mpr and went down to 20 on the freeway. Very dangerous specially pooling over and have the car relax this was when the car had only 70,000 miles . We later received a letter from Nissan that need to recall and update computer . We took it in and my husband complained to them that it was making a noise when we accelerated and he also mention the first trip and said to us everything was okay . We never had a problem after that my husband only drive it to work and home. We recently took car to oregon same route reading and as jew are hitting the hill same problem happen. I investigated it this happen to this car and a lot of other customers that have this car have the same problem call cusrtservice and refer us to consumer afffair we are now speaking to a cosumer affair representative they made us pay twice a diagnostic in oregon now in California and I'm pending what they are going to do or help me with this car. My car now has 123000 they have a extended their warranty to 120000 . My problem with Nissan is that they know about this problem we have taken the car in into their dealership before they said it was fine and if I knew about there extended warranty I would have taken my car in. Now the second diagnostic in California that I have to pay 160 they said that I need new transmission and pending in how they going to help me. This not only it was dangerous because I have my 8 month daughter and my son in the car and have it stop and only go 20 mpr in a highway where trucks are passing fast. And also stop every 20 min in the side of the road to let car cool down. I hope they can do something before a family loses there life for a neglected car that Nissan.
